đ Hey, itâs Orel here! Welcome to my weekly newsletter where I share my journey and lessons as a solopreneur who quit his 6 figures job to chase his dreams.
I develop crazy fast at a very high level. PM me if you want me to build your next 6 figures SaaS business (0-100).
It is August â23, a beautiful sunny day when I step into my team-leader office to tell him something important.
Heâs sitting in his black, office chair, working on his Mac.
I enter the room, my heart is beating fast and my arms are sweaty. I wear black clothes and the sun didnât show any mercy.
As I enter the room and sit beside him, he asks me what do I need.
âI quitâ.
He is told me that he knew it was coming. We talked about it, shaked hands and started with the process.
And in my mind I am thinking: âI am going to make it as a solopreneurâ
The plan was clear:
I am going to have a YouTube channel, LinkedIn page, a Unity game and develop web and mobile applications.
I am going to make my first million dollars in one year is what I am thinking.
And in order to avoid spending too much money, Iâll do some freelance work on Upwork and Fiverr.
The perfect plan?
At first, things went well.
I published a video on YouTube every week, I wrote code every day, published a daily post on Linkedin and had a hard case of the imposter syndrome.
A recipe for success, isnât it?
over 400 days have passed since I started the journey. And I still donât have anything valuable to show for.
Thereâs one thing that I learned in the last few days.
The best tool at our disposal
âWe need to be reminded more than we need to be taught.â
- Alex Hormozi
This quote hit me hard. And after youâll read what I have to write next, youâll understand why.
I read over 200 books in the last 4 years, 99% are non-fiction.
Around 170 different authors, each sharing their personal story of success and unique formula for achieving freedom.
And most of the roads to success have different paths, which makes sense because we have different lives and goals.
Therefore, what can you learn from those stories that will be relevant to your life? The answer is simple: Only whatâs repeated in each of the stories.
And one theme sticks out like a sore thumb in each and every one of them.
Consistency and focus.
Why does it make sense?
Whether you were a gamer, playing an instrument or did a few driving lessons, you probably know that feeling of âsuddenlyâ becoming more proficient at what you do after practicing it multiple times.
Usually after a good night sleep.
It feels as if your brain clicked into place all the pieces and now you feel more confident and can switch to second gear inside a roundabout.
This is because your brain was focused on that one thing and started a process known as consolidation while you slept.
AI Generated:
When you practice a skill, your brain creates neural connections related to that activity. During sleep, especially in stages of deep sleep and REM sleep, your brain strengthens these new connections, effectively âcementingâ the skill into memory. This allows you to perform more fluidly and confidently when you try again, as if things have âclickedâ into place.
Now imagine what happens when you focus on one thing, 8 hours a day for a week.
"And I still donât have anything valuable to show for it." â Iâd argue that you have all these lessons and experiences.
It's valuable.
Your investment will pay off sooner or later.
Good luck, Orel!
