Great structurization and approach
After you ask, say, how they're doing, do you guys just have a conversation? (If so, you're blowing an introvert's mind that you can jump into a convo without immediately planning an exit route haha)

You'd be surprised on how talkative people are on Substack.
So there are three situations.
1. You get into a deep, very interesting conversation
2. It gets pretty shallow, you exchange a dozen of messages and just end it
3. They don't respond
